What we collect

CitizenshipPrep.ca is designed to collect only what is needed to run a free verified study account and simulator experience.

Account basics: email address, password hash, optional first and last name, and optional target test date.
Simulator data: account simulator results, selected answers, topic strengths, weak areas, and review history.
Environment-readiness summaries: warning counts and durations such as tab switching or camera availability, when simulator practice uses those checks.
Contact messages: name, email address, topic, message, and submission time when you use the Contact Us form.
Local browser data: current simulator attempt, completed simulator result, and session information stored in your browser local storage.

What we do not ask for

Do not enter sensitive government or identity details into this platform.

No UCI, application number, passport number, PR card number, or government ID is required.
No phone number, home address, date of birth, payment card, or banking information is required.
No webcam images, camera frames, video recordings, ID images, face embeddings, or biometric identifiers are stored.
No real IRCC test answers are requested or claimed.

How we use information

Information is used to provide the simulator experience, save progress after email verification, show answer explanations, identify weak topics, respond to contact messages, and improve the platform.

Passwords are stored as salted hashes. The app does not store plaintext passwords.

Email verification and resets

Milestone 3 uses local development preview links for email verification and password reset. In production, these flows should be connected to a real email provider with appropriate delivery, logging, and retention controls.

CitizenshipPrep.ca is an independent study and practice tool. It is not affiliated with IRCC or the Government of Canada. Simulator results are for study planning only.
